I bought this album having never heard, or heard of, these guys. I ain't finding no blackened crust in this. What I am finding is some really good blackened emotive hardcore. They kind of remind me of a Have Heart with some trem-picked, blast-beaten parts. Good album.

The lofi approach of the recording and the sound of the drums makes this a must have for fans of the post-core black metal sound... you won't find this kind of music in stores but once you've heard the melancholic hymns of Ancst you might find what had been the missing link between hardcore and black metal, with a pinch of The Crown thrown in for brutality.
